Our 3D scanning technology

Scanner

Our 3D scanner is about 10 feet in diameter and a little over 7 feet high. It has 89 computer-synchronized cameras and 6 projectors, all precision mounted on 17 metal columns. The cameras and projectors are positioned all around you (high, low, front, back and sides) so that they can capture a full 360 degree view of you. The 6 projectors are used in addition to the cameras to project a separate 360 degree pattern map onto you. This adds additional information about dimensions and depth. Even with all of this going on, it only takes about a quarter of a second for the scanner to gather all of this information, and only a few minutes more for the software in the cloud to process and assemble all of this data into a computer image. If you decide to purchase a Twin 3D figurine, all of this 3D information is then uploaded to the cloud, and the figurine is printed offsite. The glass 3D Crystals are custom laser cut offsite, based on the uploaded data from your 3D scan. Either way, they're shipped to you in a padded box.

If you're curious about the process, be sure and check out How your Twin is made.

Note: Our 3D scanner is an improved version of the one shown here. Ours has the white projectors mounted lower to reduce the overall height. Its vertical beams are also in a slightly different arrangement.

Even though our 3D scanner
may look like it belongs on Star Trek's Enterprise,
it won't tele‑transport you anywhere.
We promise.
